Worst Workplace to Work
A public, verifiable signal that employees rate a workplace below 75%. Not punitive — a demand for change, backed by data, protected from retaliation, and correctable through a re-survey.
What the designation means
A structured, appealable, employee-verified warning — not a rumour.
Awarded when employees rate an organization below 75% across 15 categories. Displayed publicly on the org profile and rankings.
Unlike the Good badge, the Worst designation remains until a new round of surveys re-audits the workplace.
Employers can request a re-survey once meaningful change is made. Our team coordinates a fresh, verified window.
Organizations can respond publicly on their profile. Silence rarely helps candidates or investors.
Every response is IP, device and duplicate-checked. Coordinated brigading is filtered out before scores publish.
The public report shows which of the 15 categories dragged the score — leadership, pay, safety, toxicity, etc.
Employers may file a written appeal. Our review committee responds within 10 business days.
Individual respondents are never named. All data is aggregated and anonymized before publication.
Public notice preview
Sample of the public notice attached to organizations that fall below the 75% threshold.
Verified employee satisfaction score of 42%, below the 75% threshold across 15 independently audited workplace categories.
Common causes
Most Worst designations trace back to one or more of these root failures.
Bullying, cliques, retaliation, or normalized bad behaviour reported across multiple respondents.
Executives seen as dishonest, unavailable, or self-serving. Low trust in stated direction.
Compensation significantly below market, or benefits framed as perks rather than compensation.
Employees cannot raise concerns without fear of career damage or public retaliation.
The path off the list
One route only: fix what employees flagged, then let them verify the change.
The public report identifies which categories failed. Start there — not with a PR response.
Address the specific categories. Cosmetic changes (posters, town halls) will not move employee-verified scores.
After 90+ days of change, request a fresh survey window from your profile page.
If the new round crosses 75%, the Worst designation is retired and Good Place to Work certification issues automatically.
